Overview

Our project management process (or production process in videogame terms) involves seven steps:

1. Gather Information

Before starting any project, dxSaigon team arranges meetings/conference calls with the client in order to gather all the information needed for the project.

Discover the project

  • Gathering Information
  • Understanding client’s needs
  • Understanding project requirements

Clarification

  • Preparing a Communication Brief & Plan

Planning

  • Creating Project Plan
  • Setting Costs/Budgets
  • Creating Schedules
  • Assigning Team Project
  • Defining Milestones
  • QA Planning
  • Kicking Off the Project

2. Scope Definition

After understanding the Project Requirements and Objectives, dxSaigon team defines the Project Scope & Product Scope and validate them both with the clients.

Project Scope

  • The work that needs to be accomplished to deliver the final product
  • The list of all the specified features and functions

Product Scope

  • The list of the features and functions that characterize the final product

3. Risk Analysis

A detailed Risks Analysis is always done at the beginning of any project in order to foresee potential threats that could endanger the final delivery of the product.

Our Risks Analysis is done in 3 main steps:

1. Risk Identification

  • Identification of the risks
  • Classification of the risks/category

2. Risk Evaluation

  • Probability the risks occur
  • Potential impact of the risks

3. Risk Mitigation

Build a risks mitigation plan containing:

  • Risk Avoidance
  • Risk Sharing
  • Risk Reduction
  • Risk Transfer

4. Planning

After gathering the project requirements & goals, defining the scope and identifying potential risks, the dxSaigon team builds the planning for the project.

We build every planning in two steps:

Project Deliverables

  • List of project requirements & features
  • When and how each requirement and feature must be delivered
  • Dates of the deliverables

Project Schedule

  • List of tasks for each deliverable
  • The amount of effort (hours or days) required to complete each task
  • The resource who will carry out each task

5. Kick-Off Meeting

We conclude the preparation of the project by arranging a kick off meeting whose results will be shared with the clients.

We sum up with the team the following points:

  • Goals
  • Benefits
  • Assumptions
  • Scope
  • Project Team
  • Milestones
  • Plans
  • Risks & Mitigation

6. Communication Plan

For any project, we always prepare a communication plan to ensure effective and efficient communication with the client and other stakeholders.

It contains the following elements:

  • Communication Objectives
  • Target Audience
  • The Messenger
  • Key Content of the Communication
  • Communication Method and Frequency

Transparency is one of our targets; we propose to our clients:

  • Weekly conference call or meeting
  • Weekly report
  • Access to the bugbase
  • Access to the project management tool

7. Quality Plan

We consider quality one of the main criteria to assess the success of a project. We build a quality plan at the beginning of each project containing:

  • Quality Objectives to be attained
  • Steps to reach these targets
  • Sum Up of QA Plans & Quality Reviews
  • Measure achievements of the quality objectives
